Much like the publishing process itself, I, too, take hundreds of years to send updates on progress. Along with being an author, I also work at a Big Five publishing house, so my time is always spent doing either, but some exciting things have happened that I wanted to leave a paper trail for. Then I can look back and remember how cool I am when I inevitably suffer from impostor syndrome.
One, Build a Girlfriend is a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection! ⭐️
Libraries are the foundation for so many readers, and I’m incredibly grateful for this! Having the space to reach young readers directly, in the way that I was impacted myself as an emerging reader, warms my heart in a special way.
Another update, I was invited to YallWest! I remember going as a starry-eyed attendee, and being able to go as an author was a wonderful experience. I met so many great people, and I even got to be on a panel with one of my favorite YA authors, Axie Oh. She was everything Lizzie McGuire sings about: kind, welcoming, and fun. Sometimes, you should meet your heroes.

Next up from me is my YA with SimonTeen, soon to be announced (in name and synopsis at least), which is even better than Build a Girlfriend. (JK, I love my firstborn, but this new book is a bit more swoon-worthy, sorry to BAG).
Final update, March 31st, I went out on submission with my debut adult rom-com. It’s now May and…I am not on sub. Do with that as you will.
Anyways, thanks for reading. As a reward, look at my angel dog, who is the reason I go to work every single day.
What I’m playing:
Expedition 33 may be my game of the year. The storytelling, the combat, the SOUNDTRACK. This was made with love, and you feel it when you play. I have cried so much already.
